Editing Packages
Enhanced Edits focuses on two types of editing for authors.
Copy Editing
Copy editing requires a detailed look through the manuscript. This service involves checking key components such as:
- Style Consistency
- Content Accessibility
- Sentence Structure
- Continuity of Correct Tense
- Point of View
- Word Count
- Spelling
Proofreading
Proofreading is the final check of a manuscript. While there’s some overlap with copy editing, this service specifically focuses on elements including:
- Spelling
- Sentence Structure
- Final Review of the Manuscript
Double Edit Deal
If you’re looking to have both copy editing and proofreading completed, inquire about a package deal on both services.

Here’s how it works…
Step One
Obtain an estimate
Fill out the “Get a Quote” form here on the website. You’ll typically receive a response within 24-48 hours after submitting the form.
If you’re unsure about what to write down when describing the work you need edited, there’s a good rule of thumb to remember: the more detail you can provide, the more accurate your quote will be when you receive it.
Step two
Send your initial payment
After we both agree to the terms of your quote and we’re ready to proceed, an invoice will be sent to you.
Half of the total payment* is due up front.
Step Three
Email your manuscript
Once you’ve submitted your initial payment, send a copy of your manuscript to Enhanced Edits via the email address provided on the invoice.
Please note that manuscripts sent as Microsoft Word documents are preferred, but PDF files* will also be accepted as needed.
Board Books &
Picture Books
Split into Two Payments
– 50% of the quoted total is due up front
– The remaining balance is due upon completion of the edits
All Other Books
SPlit into Three Payments
– 50% of the quoted total is due up front
– Another 25% of the adjusted total is due when editing has been halfway completed
– The remaining balance is due upon completion of the edits

Fill out the form to receive an estimate on price and completion date. You’ll hear back within 48 hours (typically sooner) at the email address you provide, so please ensure that it’s one you regularly check.
*Total Payment
The minimum total agreed upon price according to the final estimate. It is understood that this could change once the manuscript is received and reviewed in its entirety, within the range stated in that estimate.
*Manuscript Files
Manuscripts emailed as Microsoft Word attachments are preferred as this allows for easier edits to be made directly on the document. However, if you would prefer to send a PDF of your manuscript, the file will be accepted with the understanding that it will be converted into a Word document for editing purposes. If needed, a PDF can then be sent back to you when edits are completed. However, due to this extra process, there will be additional charges applied to files submitted as PDFs.
